This floor ... contained the famous marble Tasman map ... which displayed the results of Tasman's voyages to Australia ... This engraving is the only surviving record of the map, as it was later replaced ... after it was totally worn off by people walking over it."

¶ Beide gegraveerde titelpagina's zijn direct voor de platen gebonden, de overige prenten niet allemaal in correcte volgorde..
¶ Titel deel II: Verhandeling van galderyen, voor-huysen, zaelen, voor-kameren, ende kameren; met de maniere om de hoogte van elck stuck te vinden, over-een-komende met hare grootte. Als mede van hare vloeren en vlackten; solderingen en platte gronden Van Deuren, Vensteren ende Cruys-kosijnen; met hare vercierselen. Van Schoorsteenen, en Trappen op verscheyde wijsen. Midtsgaders van Huys-Cappen, en hare Overdecken volgens 't hedendaeghs ghebruyck [..]
¶ "DANCKERTS (CORNELIS) de Jonge [..] geboren te Amsterdam in 1561 [..]. Aanzienlijke bouwwerken zijn door hem ontworpen en tot stand gebragt. [..]. Maar ook als plaatsnijder heeft hij groote verdiensten, getuigen hiervan zijne portretten, landschappen en geschiedtafereelen. Hij dreef daarenboven handel in prenten en landkaarten." In this last exemple Falck discusses the pros and contras of "open" versus fortified cities, and mentions that he has resided in the city of Metz for a year. 24 pages. With 3 b/w illustrations and 3 full-page coloured ground-plans. With 70 blank pages between the two treatises. In a later russian half-leather binding. (the page border lines, drawn in ink, damaged by ink corrosion, are repaired).
A very fine manuscript treatise on fortification, written and drawn in Utrecht, between 26 January and 5 March 1752. Otto Willem Falck was at that time cadet in the Engineer Corps. With much self-esteem he introduces this work with a definition of his profession: "Ingenieur est un mathematicien habile, expert, et hardi, qui scait l'art de l'architecture militaire, qui va reconnoître la place qu'on veut ataquer; et marque au General ou au Lieutenant General l'endorit le plus foible (etc.) Un ingenieur habile, brave, et experimenté est fort necessaire."
